At London Drink Driving Solicitor, we aim to keep our fees simple and clear.
We charge £1,500 including VAT for a first hearing in a court case. If you plead guilty and the case ends at that hearing there will be nothing else to pay. Additional hearings, for example, where a court adjourns sentence for a pre-sentence report to be prepared, will be charged at £999 including VAT per hearing. Extra hearings after a guilty plea are rare though.
A typical trial (including special reasons trials) in the magistrates' court will cost £4,500 including VAT. This covers the cost of preparing your case for trial and representing you at the final trial hearing. In the unlikely event there are additional hearings, these will be charged at £1,200 including VAT per hearing.
If your case is one of the very few motoring cases hearing in the Crown Court before a judge and jury then our fee will usually be £8,000 including VAT; however, there will be an additional fee payable to the barrister. We cannot say what the barrister's fee will be as it will depend on the individual you choose, which Chambers they are with, and their level of experience.
Please feel free to call us on 020 8242 4440 if you have any questions about our fees.
